徐祖寬的創作形式多元，從自身文化出發，結合當代材料與圖像，以戲劇化方式探討議題。他以長卷水墨為核心，藉綿延的敘事特性與特殊地軸，將畫面精神延伸至空間，營造場域性與互動性。作品中所謂「化物」——既是事件化身的怪獸，也是情緒與行為的具象化，映照生命中的波折與心靈歷程。透過這些轉化，他的創作展現出掙扎與和解間的動態張力，開啟觀者與內在世界的對話。

Tzu-Kuan Shiu draws from his cultural roots to merge contemporary materials and imagery, using dramatic forms to address social themes. His ink scrolls, with their extended narrative flow, extend beyond the pictorial frame into spatial and interactive experiences. Central to his work is the notion of “transformative beings” (huawu): monsters born from events, emotions, or behaviors. These figures embody turbulence, struggle, and reconciliation, turning inner states into vivid forms. Through such transformations, Shiu’s art creates a dynamic tension between reality and imagination, inviting viewers to confront both personal and shared emotional journeys.
